In case you must cancel your week with us due to airline cancellation or formal negative advice to travel to Tuscany from the authorities of your country, we will do our very best to help you reschedule to another period between 2021 and 2022. No extra charge will be applied.
Health and safety are very important to us. Here at Toscana Saporita Cooking School, we want to make sure everyone has a good time and feel comfortable at the same time. This includes every single students as well as chefs, staff, drivers and whoever is in contact with any of us.
WHAT ARE WE DOING TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE?
We assume that whoever travels to Italy will be vaccinated and the same for whoever operates at the School. We have reduced our class sizes to conform with current Government regulations
On the day you arrive at the school, we will take your temperature. We are requiring signed commitment from all instructors, assistants and class participants confirming that they are not presenting any symptoms of COVID-19 other than those that they would normally have due to annual allergies or pre-existing health conditions such as COPD or GERD. These include: fever, shortness of breath, loss of sense of taste or smell, dry cough, runny nose, and sore throat.
We are requiring face masks for class participants, instructors, and class assistants (except when eating) when we are indoors.
As before, we continue to require all class participants, instructors and assistants to wash their hands before class and to not touch their face when working with food. We are sanitizing/washing/disinfecting all tools, work stations and equipment before class and throughout class as we normally do.
As Government rules and regulations change will comply as required. If we work together, we can do our best to ensure the continued health and safety of everyone. Thank you for your support and for making the School a safe place where everyone can keep learning, cooking and have fun!
You arrive on a Sunday and are welcomed with a traditional Tuscan lunch. The remainder of the day is yours to settle in, explore the estate, swim , ride a bicycle or just relax while waiting for dinner to be served.
Monday though Friday you will have continental breakfast at 9,15 AM then lessons promptly start at 10,00AM.
Our lessons are hands on, taught in an air conditioned teaching room, and generally go from 3 to 4 hours. Classes are small and make use of all-natural, seasonally-fresh ingredients from our garden: farm to table! Essential Tuscan techniques you will master include: fresh homemade pasta, raviolis, gnocchi, pizza, bread, focaccia, risotto, bruschette and crostini, roasted meats, fish and meat preparation, pastry dough and desserts, biscotti, ice creams and sorbets, vegetable and grain soups, sour dough and breads…..and much more!
Prices are based on double occupancy and include accommodation, all meals with excellent wines, lessons, tours, airport or rail transfers (from Pisa airport or Pisa Railway Station), taxes.. There are no hidden costs or additional expenses. For those arriving and departing from Florence, please inquire with us as we will direct you to a private driver.
Participants stay in the grounds of this 17th century villa where Giacomo Puccini, the famous opera composer, used to spend long periods of time hunting and fishing. All bedrooms have self contained bathrooms and are air conditioned. Private apartments are available upon request and based on availability.
Bicycles are available to all guests at no extra charge. Horse riding lessons are available for an additional fee as well as fly fishing lessons with Moreno Borriero www.mbrods.it, an amazing instructor!
Non-Cooking Guests – We welcome friends and spouses who would like to come without taking part in the cooking program. Their price includes everything but the cooking part of the program.
Amenities – all bathrooms are en suite and hairdryers are provided in each bathroom. Washing and drying machines are available for a small fee. Free WiFi is available at the school. Single bedrooms are available for an extra fee.
Travel Arrangements – Toscana Saporita is located about 10 miles from Pisa International Airport which has direct flights from Rome, Milan and most other major European cities. Our driver will pick you up at Pisa Airport, or Pisa Train Station but arrival information must be provided at least two weeks ahead of time. This service is included in the price.
Pick ups will occur at both Pisa Airport and Pisa Train Station at the following times...
Sunday: Pisa Airport at 12 NOON and at 4 PM. Our driver will meet you at the ARRIVAL (inside the airport) with a sign with the name of the school on it. Pisa Train Station – at 12,30 PM and 3,30 PM. Please exit the station and turn left towards McDonald’ s. Our driver, will pick you up in front of it.
Our tour guides will will take you back to either Pisa Train Station or Pisa Airport. This service starts at 8,00 am and ends at 11,00 am. As a reminder, Pisa Airport is about 25 minutes far from the school with no traffic. You need to be at the airport at least 2 hours prior to your flight. The Station is approx 20 minutes far from the school with no traffic. For early departures we wil be happy to help you arrange a cab. This service in NOT included in the price you pay. Delays / Cancellations
If you experience delays or cancellations while en-route to the school, please call Sandra Lotti (Sandra’s Mobile (011-39) 335 812-9442) and advise her of your delay.
Dress is casual but you are required to wear closed toe shoes during lessons (no open-toed shoes – sneakers are fine) and wear shirts with either short sleeves or with sleeves that can be rolled up. We suggest you bring clothing you can layer should it be warmer or cooler than the expected ‘usual’ temperatures; a lightweight jacket or sweater is always suggested. If you are joining us during the summer months a bathing suit is a must – the pool is fabulous!
Initial registration indicates agreement with all terms and conditions as stated in this brochure. Toscana Saporita reserves the right to make any curriculum or itinerary changes whenever, in its sole judgment, conditions warrant. The Cooking School shall not be liable, directly or indirectly, for any injury, death or damage for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to war, acts of God, weather, strike, detention, delay, airline or other travel-related circumstances. Toscana Saporita also reserves the right to accept or refuse any person as a course participant. No refund is applicable if a participant is asked to leave. A US$ 600/Euro 600 non-refundable deposit per person is required at time of registration with balance due no later than 90 days before the start of the course. The school reserves the right to cancel the booking if the balance is not paid 90 days before the course starts.
All bank charges must be included in your payment if you make a bank transfer. Your course is guaranteed once the deposit has been received. For clients coming from Canada, payment must be with a money order in US dollars.
Toscana Saporita Tuscan Cooking School reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason. If a course is cancelled, all monies will be refunded and such refund will release Toscana Saporita from any liability. In order to cancel your registration, you must send written notification. Monies paid by you will be refunded less a cancellation fee determined as of the date Toscana Saporita receives your written notice.
Cancellation and Refund fees are: 90 – 75 days prior to course date, monies can be refunded less an administration fee of $ 1,000 – Euro 1,000
Cancellation less than 75 days prior to course date results in 100% of the amount is not refundable.
PLEASE NOTE – TOSCANA SAPORITA HIGHLY RECOMMENDS THE PURCHASE OF TRIP INSURANCE AS CANCELLATION FEES, OUTLINED ABOVE, WILL BE CHARGED REGARDLESS OF THE REASON FOR CANCELLATION.
